Contemporary Art Network was created out of a need to help artists who are not represented by the conventional gallery model gain broader exposure and connect with creative collectors who buy art because they love it and want to have it in their lives. Beyond decoration or investment value, creative collectors appreciate the true value of art because it speaks to them on a personal level. C.A.N. bridges the gap and engenders connections that are personal.....no bloated content or a constant barrage of images racing by in a blur, and without advertisers. Our creative collectors seek connection through getting to know the artist in their regions by spending time looking at their works and by creating meaningful relationships with the work and the artists. Artists selected for representation on the Contemporary Art Network are carefully vetted for the quality of their work, the seriousness of their artistic practice, and their intention to make a living doing what they love to do.

Anna Patalano is a painter, master teacher, curator, founder and director of an exciting new space, Contemporary Art Network, a promotional platform for artists and an uncluttered meeting place connecting them to collectors.

She attended Tyler School of Art (BFA Painting), Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and Yale University (MFA Painting). Like many artists, Anna’s main dedication has been to maintaining her studio practice through challenging times. She has many years of exhibition experience and her work is held in several private collections. She is also an empathic communicator with many years of experience in teaching, critical thinking, higher education, and administration. Over the last 10 years, she has developed her curating chops managing large-scale, on-site art exhibitions by working alongside several curators from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the Jewish Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Katonah Museum in NY.

Anna has been invited to participate in the Voices for Contemporary Art, Artists Interviews Workshop at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC in January 2019. She also has been invited to teach at the Robert Reed Drawing Workshops: Drawing Intensive & Pedagogical Discourse Program at the Hunter College MFA Studios in March 2019.

Anna lives in the NYC area where she quietly maintains her studio practice and is heeding a call from her fellow-artists to help them come out of the shadows and tangle of social media to help shine a light on their work.
